Sailing Fundamentals: $325.50
This comprehensive non-certification course helps beginners learn basic sailing with step-by-step instructions for everything from hoisting the sail to docking. Taught in two 3 hours sessions from our harbors in Chicago, Wilmette and Waukegan, Illinois and from Milwaukee, and Sturgeon Bay, WI. An excellent course for novice sailors ready to get their feet wet, or fulfill a “bucket” on their list of life learning.
ASA 114, Cruising Catamaran: $557.50
Able to skipper an auxiliary-powered sailing cruising catamaran of approximately 30 to 45 feet in length during a multi-day liveaboard cruise upon inland or coastal waters in moderate to heavy winds (up to 30 knots) and sea conditions. Knowledge of catamaran structure, components and features, performance under sail and power, boat systems, seamanship and safety, heavy weather operation, and emergency response.
ASA 103, Basic Coastal Cruising: $557.50
This course is the next step into the world of coastal cruising. It provides the necessary knowledge to cruise safely in local and regional waters as both skipper and crew on an auxiliary powered sailboat of about 28 – 35 feet in length, in moderate winds and sea conditions. You will learn the basics of daytime coastal cruising in moderate wind and sea conditions including the recommended safety equipment, forecasting weather, reading navigational charts, marlinspike seamanship, boat handling under sail and power and more.
Format: Taught from Sheridan Shore Yacht Club, located in Wilmette, Il. This course is offered as a 2 day weekend course over Saturday and Sunday, 8 hours each day.

ASA 103/104 Basic to Bareboat Cruising Combo: $1,090.50
This is an advanced cruising standard for sailors with cruising experience. Certified students act as skipper or crew of a 30 – 50 foot boat sailing by day in coastal waters. The course includes basic navigation, cruise planning, advanced anchoring techniques, boat systems and maintenance procedures. Most charter companies require a sailing resume from the Skipper charting the boat, and look for this certification.
Format: Taught from Burnham Harbor located in Chicago Illinois. This course is offered as a 4 day course, Thursday through Sunday, 8 hours each day.

It will provide the necessary knowledge to sail a boat of about 20 feet in light to moderate winds and sea conditions in familiar waters without supervision. The course is taught by USCG Captains and your certification is recognized by the United States Coast Guard as a Safe Boating Course.
